We are passionate about preventative mental health care because mental health matters to everyone. It's normal for mental health to fluctuate and we all experience times when it isn't at its best. Just like physical health, there are steps we can take to care for and maintain our mental well-being.

We have built this website as we are passionate about both preventative and promotional mental health care. Taking a proactive approach to care is really important, rather than only focusing on reactive care when a problem already exists. We advocate for more research in the field of preventative mental health. Together, we hope to make preventative care a priority.

The evidence base for what works in preventative mental health care is still growing, and there is a real need for more research in this area. What works? What doesn't? What can we do to help?

We have been working on ‘The MEND Study’- Mental health prEvention and promotioN in a general practice setting: A feasibility stuDy’ and the results from our early research can be found here.

The MEND Study was funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Research for Patient Benefit (RfPB) Programme (Grant Reference Number NIHR204332) and sponsored by Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCFT-RD23002).

We are now working up to a larger efficacy trial, if you want to learn more and get involved, please contact us. An efficacy trail explores if a treatment works (is effective) or not.
